Most dating apps are built to keep you swiping. Matches pile up, conversations drift, and months later you have a long list of people you never met. Tandem is built the other way round: to get you off the app and into a real conversation with someone nearby, quickly.
When two people like each other, a chat opens and a 72-hour clock starts. If you agree to meet, the clock stops and the chat stays. If nobody suggests anything, the chat closes and you both move on. No archive of dead conversations, no pressure to keep performing.
Fewer matches, taken seriously, beat endless matches taken lightly. Your attention is not the product. We would rather you delete the app because you met someone than keep you scrolling.
Tandem is in early access. It is being tested with a small group before a wider launch, and is distributed directly rather than through the app stores. Things will change, features will move, and occasionally something will break. If it does, tell us at support@tandem-solution.com and we will fix it.
Tandem is run by Olaf Ulonska, an individual operating from Malaysia. There is no large company behind it, no investors and no advertising. Write to support@tandem-solution.com and a person reads it.

Only what the app needs:
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We show no advertising at all. We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not follow your movements in the background: your position is read only while Tandem is open, never while it is closed. We do not read your chats for marketing, and we do not build a profile of you to sell to anyone.
Photos are checked on your own phone to confirm a face is visible. The check happens on the device and the photo is not sent anywhere for that purpose.
Once uploaded, photos are stored with an address that is hard to guess but not secret. Anyone holding the exact link can open it. Treat your profile photos as public, and do not upload anything you would not want seen outside the app.
When you open Tandem, the app reads where you are and stores a single coordinate. It is replaced each time you open the app, and no history is kept. Other people never see your coordinate, only a rough distance such as "less than 1 km away".
A few services make Tandem work, and each sees only the part it needs:
None of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
Your profile stays until you delete it. A chat that expires after 72 hours disappears from the app, and its messages are erased when either person deletes their account. Delete your account and everything goes: profile, photos, likes, matches, messages, position and notification addresses. It is immediate and cannot be undone.
You can see your data, correct it, take a copy of it, or have it erased. Deletion is built into the app: "You", then "Delete my account". For anything else, write to support@tandem-solution.com and we will answer within 30 days.
If you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR gives you these rights and you may complain to your national data protection authority. In Malaysia, the PDPA applies.
Tandem is for adults. You must be 18 or older. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we delete it.
Connections are encrypted, passwords are scrambled, and the database rules mean you can only reach your own data and the profiles of people you are matched with. No system is perfect. If you spot a security problem, write to support@tandem-solution.com and we will treat it seriously.
If this notice changes in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
Be a real person, be honest about who you are, and treat everyone here as if you will meet them next week. Because you might.
Depending on what happened, we may remove your photos, close your account, or block you from signing up again. For anything involving minors or credible threats, we hand the information to the authorities.
If someone makes you uncomfortable, write to support@tandem-solution.com with their name and what happened. If you are in danger, contact your local emergency services first.
By using Tandem you accept these terms. They are between you and Olaf Ulonska, operating from Malaysia. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
You must be 18 or older, use it for yourself, and keep to the community rules. One account per person. Do not share your login.
Your photos and words stay yours. You give us permission to show them to other people inside Tandem, which is the whole point of a profile. That permission ends when you delete your account or the content.
Tandem is in early access and is provided as it is. Features may change or disappear, and interruptions are possible. We do our best, but we cannot promise the app is always available or free of faults.
Tandem introduces people. We do not run background checks and we cannot vouch for anyone. You decide who to meet, and you meet them at your own risk. Meet in public the first time and tell someone where you are going.
Tandem is free to use during early access. When paid subscriptions launch, the price and what you get for it will be shown before you pay, a subscription will run until you cancel it, and cancelling takes effect immediately: the extra features stop at once and the remainder of the month you have paid for is not refunded.
You can delete your account at any time from the "You" screen, and everything goes with it. We may close an account that breaks the community rules or the law.
Tandem is run by one person and given to you free during early access. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or anything that happens between you and another person, whether inside the app or in the world outside it.
The law of Malaysia applies. If you live in the EU or UK, this does not take away the consumer protections you have where you live.
